Re: [FCP-L] Sorry - Totally off subject, Out of memory printing issue

Have you tried "printing" it as a PDF first and then printing THAT?

Re: [FCP-L] FCP: moving tracks in timeline

The only track you could "move" is the LAST one.

If you look at the bottom of the "Sequence" menu you'll see "Add
Tracks" where you could say "Add Track(s) BEFORE last", which would
move it (Audio) down under a new empty track.

If you have synced video btw, you of course can deselect the "Linked
Selection" button then select and move it by itself OR simply hold the
ALT key before selecting to invert the current state of "Linked
Selection", which is why I NEVER actually deactivate it.

Re: [FCP-L] Sorry - Totally off subject, Out of memory printing issue

Anytime I have had that message, no matter what I was doing at the
time, the problem turned out to be a corrupt file.

You might try the tried and true method of halving the script, then
quartering if necessary, until you find the offending section.

I must admit, I have never had the problem trying to print.

Re: [FCP-L] FCP: moving tracks in timeline

You cannot move tracks. You can only move the contents of tracks.
Select the whole track and move it up or down as described in earlier
messages.

All the best,

Tom

Sorry for being off subject, but trying to print out a clients script and I keep getting "General Error", then "out of memory". However, Cache is cleaned, hard drive is 12 gigs available. Re: [FCP-L] FCP: moving tracks in timeline

He would have to select the entire track and then Shift-Drag. Or,
since it is an audio track and (I assume) doesn't have as many clips
to it as a video track, he could Shift -Drag each clip.

A little more laborious, but it would work.

I think he wants to move an ENTIRE TRACK, not a CLIP down. In Avid,
you can reposition entire tracks above or below other ones.

Steve is correct - moving an entire track up or down is what I am looking
for. Anyone?

BTW the OPT + ARROW up or down to move a selected clip is a new one for me

Sure. Highlight the clip(s) and Option-Arrow Up/Down. Or if you need
to skip over clips on other tracks, Shift-Drag the clips(s) to keep
things lined up.
