Re: [FCP-L] Video Archive - What are you using?
Agreed. Wyler actively (and usefully) participates in FCP-L. Additionally,
he was responding to someone's query...not preemptively spamming the list.
So those factors earn him some slack.

Re: [FCP-L] OMF ISSUE
Always fun to be the one to find the unique issue. Since audio is just low frequency video, with issues of self esteem do to it's smaller file sizes, this doesn't surprise me. ;-)

I answer:
Yes, I'm trying to make a DVD-R that plays on a Blu-ray player as if
it was a Blu-ray disc. As Dave Sacher calls it a "BD-On-DVD".
I have made ac3 files Dolby Digital encoded with Compressor. I do not
have Encore. I am trying to use Roxio Toast10 to do the disc burning.
Toast10 makes beautiful BD-On-DVDs in stereo; I'm having trouble
getting a multiplexed file of both video and ac3 audio which Toast will
accept that will play in 5.1 surround sound. Toast cannot do the ac3
encoding. Compressor can, but it cannot seem to do the necessary
audio/video multiplexing step that Toast needs. I've been using the
free utility tsMuxeR to do the multiplexing, but sometimes it won't
accept the H.264 video file as valid for multiplexing and gives errors
(which don't tell me what's actually wrong). If I can't multiplex, I
can't make the high-definition DVD with 5.1 surround sound. If you
have any suggestions of what I'm missing or doing wrong, I'm listening.

Re: [FCP-L] OMF ISSUE
You are. But this is such an anomaly that I think something major and
EXTREMELY uncommon is at hand. I have done over 200 OMF exports for
audio from FCP and never ever had this issue. I am a forum troll on
more forums than I have fingers, and I have never heard of this
issue. So I am darn sure this is a one-in-a-million fluke. OMF is
such old technology that I am not surprised.
One that the Duck just happens to be able to work past. It does
WONDERS with this old tech.

[FCP-L] OMF ISSUE
So here I am, doing something I have done 50 times before (from this machine, this company)... exporting an OMF of 10 tracks for the audio mixer. Only this time, oddly, only FIVE tracks are exporting. I have done this on 2 machines now. FCP 6.0.5. All tracks are enabled, auto select is active on all tracks, nothing is LOCKED.
I see it as it exports tracks 1 - 5...and after track 5, it stops. I tried copying and pasting into a new project, new sequence. Nope, stops after track five.
I had the bright idea of deleting tracks 1-5 and exporting 6-10. And it looked like it was going to work, but after track 6, it stopped. I deleted track 6. Then it did track 7...and stopped.
Anyone heard of this? I can export all the rest of the tracks as individual OMF files, but that is a stupid workaround.
The dangdest thing...

I've made BD-Rs with 5.1 mixes as AC3 through compressor and authored
in Encore.
Are you talking about burning to BD-r or DVD-r using AVCHD through
something like Toast?
The latter I haven't tried but might impact the final result.
