replaced last in 2005 just before its AppleCare expired. It's second battery
no longer lets me use it off of the grid. Although it was originally my
editing computer (FCP 3 since upgraded to 5), the fact that it doesn't run
Motion kept me from using it except for the most elementary projects. I
can't recall the last time I used it for FCP.
The hinge is flaky, so the screen will occasionally go black and I'll have
to close the top and re-open it to get the screen to display. Still, I am
inclined to replace the hard drive and continue to use it just for e-mails
and web browsing at home, although I have an iMac in my home office. Am I
simply being too sentimental? Is it time to retire this old horse? (As
already stated, the HD was replaced once as was the battery, and the screen
replaced once.)
The one thing that it offers me is a machine to continue to run FCP 5 on
when I bring home work from my clients that have yet to upgrade to FCS 2 or
3. Otherwise I just use my iMac for my own editing.
Any thoughts?
