Goofy. I've run into an image stabilization issue on two different
systems playing SD into different consumer HD flatscreens as program
monitors.
Playback from FCP (6.06 and 7.0) is through Firewire from different
computers through different Sony DVcam decks, then analog out to
different TVs via composite or s-video. Problem is the image on the
screen jitters - one system shudders the entire image randomly every
2-3 seconds, and the other system displays tearing at the top at the
same general rhythm.
Anybody know a reason why firewire might be unstable through E-E loop
from SD playback into HD flatscreens, on two entirely different
systems? No sync lines exist, or should be needed. Or why the SD-HD
conversion might be to blame (signal converted in TVs; image displayed
on computer screens shows no instability)
into CRTs, both pro and consumer. Goofy.
