[FCP-L] Re: MPEG-2 Playback Component - Busted in QT10?

Apologies for replying to myself here, but I see what the problem is now. The component that seems to work, now installed in the System/Library, is named QuicktimeMPEG2.component; the old, pre-SL codec in the Volume/Library (with all the other add-on codecs) is named AppleMPEG2Codec.component. The latter no longer functions under SL, so I don't see how copying it from a pre-SL backup could possibly work.

Anyway, Streamclip is now happily handling .m2v and MPEG2 files in Snow Leopard.

It's in the Volume/Library; the Library that is used, however, is in the System/Library. For whatever reason, simply copying the old component into the correct Library didn't work; a new install was necessary.
