There's a free codec that lets you work with their material on Macs or PCs. To get some of the cooler features -- like FirstLight -- a program like Neo4K (or a lower res version) might be useful.

One of the keyers that I have had the best experience with is those in Boris
Red. Admittedly, I have only used them on an Avid, but they seemed to have a
great number of adjustments that many of the other keyers don't.

I have also used Keylight and ZMatte successfully.

However, all in all, I have to agree with Robin, the key to a successful key
is proper lighting and shooting.

[FCP-L] Best way of getting a FCS3 project sent to an FCS2 editor?

I cut a very simple project in FCS3 (about 10 clips per track of cuts-
only on two tracks) and I need to send it to my graphics guy who only
has FCS2. The footage is a combination of imported Artbeats footage
and HDV footage converted to ProRes.

What's the best method for getting the edit information to him. He
already has the media.

I've sent him XML files (version 1 and 5) and an EDL.

In the end, he needs to get it to After Effects I think, though he
uses an OLD version of After Effects.

I just moved to a weekly DVCPRO HD shot show that does a bunch of
green screen and the plug-in they have been using is dvmattepro 3 from
dv garage ($199). The plug in works in FCP or Motion. The light wrap
seems to really help with the edges. In the past I have been using
AE's Key Light. Take a look at Red Giant's Keying bundle. Red Giant is
having some sales on a bunch of their plug-ins right now if you need
an end of year tax right off. Disclaimer: I don't work for dvgarage
or Red Giant, just use their products.

Not really a plugin, but Avid's Spectramatte is amazing.
Especially since it's RT.

What format are you working in? The ChromaKeyer is adequate for easy stuff. Motion as quite a good keyer for some media.
