Re: [FCP-L] Considering Canon XH-A1s. Any reviews? Used?

I use the Sony EX1.
It's NOT a huge problem. It only happens if entire frame is filled. I've shoot lots of fireworks displays and NEVER see it. None of my clients have ever complained. If they don't like camera flashes it ALL looks ugly. If they don't mind, they don't see the rolling shutter flash as something noteworthy.

Sony Clip Browser 2.6, available in Europe now and probably in USA around December (It's free) will detect and fix these frames if need be.

There are benefits to 1/2" chips made possible by CMOS.
Personally I'd prefer having the 1/2 chips with much better depth of field control than 1/3 chips and smaller as well as better low light sensitivity. They also don't streak when hit with hot light points like CCD chips.

Keep in mind even the RED uses a rolling shutter.
Panasonic "3MOS" chips are also CMOS rolling shutter too.
