No matter what Hz (we have a 120Hz Sony LCD) set you might have, the compression artifacts that I sometimes see during sports off my cable system is (are?) extremely annoying.

Thanksgiving Day Channel 11 here in NY broadcast the NFL Network production of the Giants/Broncos game had artifacts in what seemed to be every transition.  Maybe it was because of the rebroadcast

Blu-ray looks spectacular, but sports can sometimes be dodgy, through no fault of the set.

Eww. I can't even bear to watch 25fps film material on a friend's 50Hz TV, let alone 120 or 240!

Can't help feeling this is a "what can we offer consumers next now we've done HD" development.
