[FCP-L] Re: OT: Monitors

An LCD only looks sharp at it's native resolution, so you don't want to adjust the display resolution as the way to get bigger system type.

When picking an LCD, think:

Bigger Type = Bigger Pixels = Fewer Pixels / Inch = Higher Dot Pitch

The dot pitch of LCD monitors ranges from about .16mm to about .40mm

If bigger type, buttons and timeline detail is what you're after then choose a monitor that goes against the conventional wisdom that finer dot pitch is better.

So, don't get just a bigger LCD, get a bigger LCD that doesn't have more pixels per inch. In other words, get a bigger LCD that also has a bigger dot pitch.
