[FCP-L] FCP 7 + XDCAM EX transfer on SL

Hi everybody,

I am interested to get know how people transferring files from
a Sony EX1 together with the latest FCS and FCP7 via firewire
on SL OS 10.6.
I'd like to go out of an EX1 via firewire & convert to ProRes
into an iMac running SL/FCS 3.

Going through the archives I understand Log+Transfer tool is not
working as it should at present. Anyone with a good workflow
please let me know.
