[FCP-L] Codec Conundrum for Cross Platform Data DVD

L-er's,

I am trying to build a companion DVD for an upcoming book on multicamera techniques and wish to include (16) 2:30 minute ISO clips (mastered at DVCPro HD/29.97) and (6) one minute ISO clips (mastered at SD ProRes 422).

Everything needs to fit onto a DVD9 (Limitation set by publisher).

Further, I need to be as cross platform and NLE agnostic as possible so Mac & PC, Avid, FCP, Vegas and Premiere Pro users can all use the footage.

What would be the best codec to transcode to get the smallest file size with the fastest bit rate and best quality for editing on all the major systems?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
