Given that I spend half my life defielding interlaced stuff for UK TV
broadcasts I'd much rather the footage was shot progressive in the first
place. It would save me throwing away half the vertical resolution.
Given also that just about all new TVs with their LCD or Plasma screens
don't handle interlaced terribly well, that's another reason to shoot
progressive for TV.
I don't know anyone over here that does prime time stuff that still shoots
interlaced.
