[FCP-L] Re: HDV Question

Quote "I actually have 2 iPhones hooked together to give me dual monitor editing just like the pros use."
What a laugh! And there was me thinking we were Pros with dual 26" screens on MacPros FCPs and Avids.....

Oh and yes you can technically lay back to HDV but anyone who knows the technical limitations of re compressing a fixed length GOP. Will be aware of the likely hood of cuts occurring between I frames and the damage the resulting frames will suffer till the next I frame. Possibly as much as 10 frames of damaged material.
HDV is suitable for acquisition. But that's all.
Layback to implies there is no regard for the quality. SO why even bother in the first place.
Output as a file (ideally framebased codec) and transfer it that way.
