I do see your point. Of course, most of my experience with the EX has been 24p and film-style filtering and gammas. I do like the look of the Panasonics out-of-the-box and agree that the 300 is a good little camera for the money. Plus much better ergonomics.

But the original concern was ease of post. In that realm, all tapeless is a PITA in my opinion. Files from a Canon 5D or 7D are easier than EX and XDCAM from that POV if you ignore the transcoding issue. Nevertheless, tape is dead (or on its way under the ground) and they ain't turning back.
