HI Wes;
Don't know how much you have to spend but I filmed a studio interview this weekend and I lit the set with 8 lights. I know this is overkill probably for what you have in mind but if you want to set your work apart, take the time to light properly. The camera is only a tool that records what you set in front of it. I used multiple softboxes, diffused fill lights, lower front fill, hair light, and a gelled spotlight on the background. All of my lights were fluorescent. Fluorescent doesn't throw large quantities of light and the light falls off quicker than tungsten but it gives a nice smooth quality and without much heat at all. I bought several lights at www.coollights.
