Well, if you want LEAST expensive (these are students here and he does
want 18 mics) then B&H has a Samson (XLR connection) lav for about $60.

I also found on Google some lavalier mics from Sony with mini-jack
plugs for as low as $30.
Buying 18 mics for a school at even $150 a piece is (doing the
math...) $2700. I guess it depends on what type of school and what
type of students.
